Weekly Review
On 7th September, I presented my current progress to Dr. Shawn. He told me that instead of using the current technique that I was using, I should get assistance from artificial intelligence tools to help search for the images I needed instead. He also pointed out that I shouldn’t be so focused on trying to accommodate every layout, and instead focus on the most important one—which was the mobile layout, since more people access websites exclusively on their phones nowadays.
Working on the Task
Using Dr. Shawn’s word as guidance, I used assistance tools such as Gemini, Claude, and Galaxy AI to help with searching for and editing the photos I decided to use—making sure that logos were erased and fixing anything that looks off. I also made a mental note to prioritize the mobile layout, ensuring that any kind of important information can fit in a screen and making sure the visitors don’t have to scroll so much when looking through the Sayembara website.
Reflection
I’ve learned that artificial assistance tools can be beneficial for tasks that can be time-consuming when done manually, and that it can be necessary at times when trying to complete a project. What’s most important is that there is a purpose in me using such tools, instead of generating ‘slop’ that can deter visitors from the Sayembara website.
Next Week’s Plans
Since I’ve regained my motivation, I hope that I can finish the two versions of the website—along with their mobile and desktop layout. I’d also like to start working on the individual webpages of each section in the Sayembara website, if I manage to do so next week!
