Week 23: Learning & Improving, Onto the Final Week

This week, I continued working on the Rank Judge and Rank Emcee modules, focusing on polishing the features and fixing remaining issues before raising an updated PR to Dr. Shawn for review and feedback.

I also continued investigating the logo issue, which is still unresolved. I spent time comparing and debugging the changes to identify the actual cause rather than assuming the problem based only on the error message.

Although my internship is getting closer to the end, I am still learning new things through debugging, testing, and code review. Each issue has given me another opportunity to understand the system better than before.

Challenge This Week

The main challenge was still identifying the root cause of the logo issue while also trying to complete and polish the Rank-Based System within the limited time remaining.

I also experienced mixed feelings this week. I am excited to finish my internship, but at the same time, I feel a little sad because I have enjoyed learning and working with the team throughout this experience.

Solution

I continued debugging the logo issue systematically by comparing the current implementation with the previous working version. For the Rank-Based System, I focused on testing and polishing the existing features before submitting the updated PR instead of rushing to add and fix more changes.

Reflection

This week reminded me that learning does not stop just because the internship is coming to an end. I am still discovering new things about debugging, testing, code structure, and problem-solving.

At the same time, I realised how much I have grown since the beginning of my internship. What once seemed unfamiliar is now easier for me to understand, and I have become more confident in investigating problems.

Next Week’s Plan

1. Raise the updated PR for the Rank-Based System and wait for Dr. Shawn’s review.
2. Continue investigating and fixing the logo issue.
3. Address any feedback or bugs found during the final testing.
4. Make the most of the remaining internship period and continue learning until the end.
