Investigating Unexpected Filtering Bugs
The week started with a set of persistent bugs in the filtering logic some filters unexpectedly returned no results, while others included records that clearly didn’t belong. These weren’t caused by typos or missing fields, but by subtle logic issues in how filters were applied internally. I used Jest and React Testing Library to write test cases simulating real user filters. Through this, I learned how to trace logic from the filter input to the final displayed records, ensuring the test environment accurately mimicked production data handling.
